Operation LAMB
Monday, 11 January 2010 20:34
Since its inception in 1974, the OPERATION LAMB program in North Carolina, named after the biblical quotation:

"…whatsoever you do to the Least Among My Brethren, that you do also to me." Matthew 25:40

has raised over $12.2 million to assist mentally retarded citizens in our state. Each year, the Knights of Columbus, their families and friends stand long hours outside shopping centers.

They offer free Tootsie Rolls to all passers by and ask for donations to assist citizens with mental retardation. Their smiling faces and bright yellow aprons have become familiar sights throughout this great state.

We have arranged with generous local merchants to arrange times and places for collection. Please check the schedule for convenient times and venues to fit your schedule.

Special Olympics
Monday, 11 January 2010 20:37
The 2010 Special Olympics was held at the Cabarrus Arena on April 28 and 29, 2010.

Council 7450 supports the Special Olympics by funding the event awards and hosting the event awards distribution. The Knights along with other community volunteers call out the winners names and place the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals and the 4th, 5th, and 6th place ribbons on the event winners.

The event contestants have a great time at these events and are a joy to watch compete for the most sought after Gold medal.
